Don
Ricci
Artist
Don
Ricci is a lifetime resident of Sonoma
County living in Santa Rosa with his wife and two sons.
He has been member of the fire service for over 13 years
and is a Captain with the Santa Rosa Fire Department
in California. Firefighting is a family tradition with
his father, brother, and cousin all in the fire service.
He has found a unique way to blend his profession with
his love of art. He has created several works of art
based on firefighters doing the job they do.
In
the wake of the September 11th attacks, Don once again
took his brush to canvas to create a series of paintings
reflecting the courage and sacrifice made by his brother
firefighters on that day. Through the selling of prints
of his paintings and the help of his family at home
and family of fire service professionals they raised
over $82,000.00 for the FDNY Widow and Children’s
Fund.
Don
was thrilled to be a part of the Three Alarm Red project
utilizing his artwork on, not only such a good wine,
but to once again help others as the Three Alarm Red
is doing with the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.
Don
enjoys spending much of his off time with his family
as well as aircraft restoration with the Pacific Coast
Air Museum where he is the Assistant Crew Chief with
the F-4 Phantom. Much of his artwork is related to aviation
history as well as other contemporary and art deco pieces.
